The standard “go to” resistor in your speaker building arsenal is the 10 watt ceramic type. These are inexpensive enough to have a few extra on hand for experimentation and work well for entry level designs.
To read the value printed on the resistor, Sometimes the decimal is replaced by an “R” – the small print of a decimal is too small to read. For example, a 3.3 ohm value may be printed 3R3
- 0.5 Ohm
- 10 Watt
- Wire wound
- Ceramic – Cement boat type
- Tinned copper leads
- 2″ (49mm) long, 3/8″ (9mm) x 3/8″
- 1.5″ (34mm) long leads
