The audio grade capacitor designed and built for you – the speaker builder. As a result, this film capacitor falls right into the sweet spot of your buying decision.

You might not realize that of all the capacitors we carry, only one brand actually makes their own capacitors. – Clarity.  The rest are subcontracted out and it would be safe to say the same of most all the other brands.

What are the decisions that go into specifying a capacitor?  With high volume manufacturers, the cost is an issue.  The end user never sees the inside of their loudspeaker and doesn’t care about the brand.  They are sourced from the Far East where it is easy to reach the 1000+ minimums and happily take the standard, vanilla product.

At the other extreme are the Boutique capacitors. The small production runs and exotic packages result in a crazy selling price.

In contrast, we developed the Cebo to allay your fears about ending up with inferior capacitors or hoping you didn’t waste your money on hype.  To be comparable to some of the best, the specs. need to stand on their own.

Package –  You’ll see an all-white body with black epoxy end caps. An easy reference to some of the best capacitor pioneers in the industry.

Voltage – This was a tough decision.   Higher voltage usually translates to a bit better sound.  This also increases package size and cost. That puts a real damper on board real estate space.

Tolerance – To keep your cost down, we choose 5% – which is pretty typical. The plan was to hand measure and sell them as matched pairs at no extra charge. I was amazed when they actually measured 2% and better!  You get perfect pairs every time.

Sound –  I think there are few that will admit they can hear the difference between capacitors. We tend to rely on the longtime designers to form our own opinion.  Before the Cebo went into production, I sent plain samples to many of those experts to gain feedback. No sense building thousands of Dollars worth of capacitors if the end up sucking, right?   Big relief – they didn’t.  Here’s what they said…… “Better Space than the C*****SA.”    “They stop on a dime for transients.”   “No minor treble emphasis.”   “Frankly, they gave my reference arrangement a run for the money!”
