Product Description
The LDW7, Mid Woofer from CSS Audio
The unit has all the good stuff. The motor features aluminum shorting rings to stabilize the cone from overshoot and has a copper-capped pole piece to limit distortion.
The cone is a paper and fiberglass mix that gives good stiffness yet a smooth extended response.
The parameters of this woofer allow both vented box and sealed box designs.
Jeff Bagby recently auditioned these and his comments: “I can’t remember ever seeing anything that measured this flat. The distortion signature is extremely good too, pretty much state of the art. This driver competes against anything I have ever seen. It is top tier”.

This is a great option as a direct drop-in mid woofer for older Legacy Audio speakers. Specifically, the older speakers (90s) with the yellow Eton drivers (7-380-32 HEX). I don’t feel that I’m missing anything as these sound as good or better.
