2″ Fiberglass Speaker Damping Material
Fiberglass is the best damping material you can use to suppress standing waves inside a speaker cabinet. The downside is that it is hard to work with – the glass fibers are very itchy! Besides that, the big box stores requires you to buy 10 times more than what you would need for a small project.
After speaking with several designers on their preference for “good old” fiberglass, we found a reasonable source, and usable thickness for most any speaker project. To keep the irritation down to a minimum, we are also including vinyl gloves and disposable face mask with each purchase.
If 2″ is too thick for your project, you can easily separate the material in half
