Hi-Vi Research L5-8R Woven Kevlar Cone Midrange Woofer

The 5.25″ woofer is a real sleeper.  It is rather inexpensive but gives a very nice punch in the bass and the midrange is very open.

Chances are if your driver measures about 5-13/16″ diagonally, 5-3/16″ across the frame, and your through-hole is 4-19/32″ or a little bigger, then this replacement is what you have been looking for!

This is well known to be an excellent sounding drop-in replacement for Linaeum tweeter speakers like the RCA CAT 40-5037, Optimus LX5, Optimus  LX5II, Optimus 77, etc.  “They fit perfectly.”

Also drop-in replacement for Paradigm, Boston Acoustics HD5, PSB Alpha B1, EAW UB12S, Advent Minis, Polk Monitor 50, DC130A-8, DC130AS-8, among many others with this hard to find “pincushion” shaped frame.

The cone material is woven Kevlar with a rubber surround and is housed in a cast basket.
