This previously “word of mouth” only kit is now available.  There has been a dearth of information regarding this kit, as Jeff didn’t think there would be a market because the woofers are very expensive, and are in a special order. We have been able to get the woofers built now in less than 3 weeks, so the kit is officially for sale.

If Jeff is able to provide more build data on this premium speaker kit, we will publish it here.

The tweeter for this kit is the first tweeter in the Revelator series by Scan-Speak. It might be older, but certainly not out of date in performance and sound reproduction.  The large, concave faceplate allows it to give you an excellent off-axis response.

The 6.5″ woofer is by AudioTechnology and features a Polypropylene cone with a rubber edge.  If you are able to attend regional audio shows like Axpona or Rocky Mountain Audio Fest, you are sure to hear commercial systems using the AudioTechnology Drivers.  You can also hear it here 🙂  Indiana DIY 2015

The Bare Bones kit includes:

• 2 x Scan-Speak, D2905/9900 Tweeter
• 2 x AudioTechnology 18H woofer
• 2 x Crossover Components –
  • Standard with Clarity PX  You can also choose to upgrade the tweeter capacitors with some very fine brands.
  • Standard Lynk metal oxide resistors.  You can upgrade these as well.
  • Perfect layer inductors. (14ga on woofer)
• Build plans

Capacitor upgrades. Most find the upgrades most noticeable in the tweeter circuit. If you need to upgrade the woofer circuit, give us a call or email for a quote.

The cabinet is difficult with the 5-degree slant.  The faceted edges are not necessary but are very attractive.
